The Most Important Events

1951 - Wałbrzyskie Zakłady Przemysłu Lniarskiego (Wałbrzych Factory of Flax Industry), place of business in Wałbrzych, was established. The factory was manufacturing linen, tow, deck-chair, towel, sheet fabrics, fabrics to be printed, harvest cloths.

1968 – a new type of fabrics was developed – sewn clothing inserts. They were fabrics of yarn with camel’s hair, characterized by very high recovery and full, natural „feel”.

1972 – to satisfy the needs of producers, mainly those of clothing industry, the production of modern clothing inserts, covered with thermoplastic adhesives, making it possible to reinforce clothes, was started.

1984 – 85 – new assortments – shirt inserts and knitted inserts were introduced into production.

1989 – the company name was changed to Fabryka Wkładów Odzieżowych Camela (Factory of Clothing Inserts Camela)

1995 – the ownership transformation took place. The established Workers’ Company with 100% ownership capital share, of the employees of Fabryka Wkładów Odzieżowych Camela S.A., took over, under the conditions of the contract of lease, the property of liquidated enterprise from the Treasury, for use, to be paid for. In the same year production of viscose and decorative yarn was started.

1997 – production of elastic inserts was developed and implemented.

1999 – the Workers’ Company took over the whole factory’s property. In the same year production of clothing inserts with double adhesive point was started.

2002 – production of bi-elastic inserts was developed and implemented,

2005 – construction of a modern spinning mill was finished, the assortment of woven and knitted yarns was widened.

2005 – the company celebrated its 55th anniversary of existence and 10th anniversary of the workers’ company existence.

Investments

The most important investments of the last years are connected with production plants. During the last few years each of them changed completely because of the most modern, highly automated machines. An important event for the company was development of the spinning mill. A new, modern production plant was constructed, the so far production of decorative yarns is located there but now it is completed with the new assortment of plied yarn. The spinning mill of today is a very modern plant, manufacturing its products at a high, world quality level. The weaving mill was equipped with new generation looms, making it possible to increase productivity and to improve quality of the fabrics manufactured. The knitting mill systematically acquires new warp knitting machines (with weft winding), computer controlled. The finishing plant acquired new technologies of bleaching, dyeing and thermoplastic adhesive spread. Moreover, the new control-measuring equipment was installed, which significantly improved quality of the manufactured products. Besides, we made some more investments – we bought and installed the machine for laminating and joining different materials. It gives us more production possibilities, differing from our so far assortment profile. So far we have managed to develop and implement the new technology of thermoplastic adhesive spread on materials and joining (method of sticking together two or three) of furs, leathers and other textile materials with mangle. Making such investments is one of the factors that contributes to the company’s success.
